Culinary Genius Is Born

Hiiiiiii,

Okay so this post is going to be related to a product that I personally think is a necessity for every student living out of home...AND it provides healthy food. Winner. What is it you ask?... Well it is none other than a George Foreman Grill. Haha I know i know..pretty random. But I have to say.. I am absolutely chuffed with it!

I am by no means whatsoever good in the kitchen.. It's quite pathetic how horrible I am really and my dear mum (knowing this) decided to send me out a George Foreman grill the other day. What a woman!! I honestly feel like she has saved my life a bit.. There's only so many times you can be satisfied with tomatoes and feta on toast before you start to resent the shit out of it.

Not only is this life saver of a machine unbelievably practical it also says that it reduces fat content by up to 42%...42%!!! amazing..

I feel that at the moment we're all trying to be a bit more health conscious in general..in regards to what we're eating and the likes so I think if you are a student who is living out of home like me and trying to be good like me (mostly)..AND who also possesses as much cooking skills as a wooden spoon LIKE ME.. then this is definitely the most ideal product for you! Honestly you will not look back, you can cook everything in this beauty.. Chicken, fish, burgers, toasties! mmmm.

You can pick it up in any argos for about 20 quids.. Bargain.

Probably not a post that young people may want to be reading about but I couldn't not write about it.. it is that good! If you come across this post..give it a go! I really doubt that you'll be disappointed :)

Quick look at this nifty little machine! so cute and compact! :)

Chocolate Show! Holy yummm!

Hellooooo,

Okay so this weekend was set to be a bit of a snooze for poor little me because my good friend Emily went home to Ireland to celebrate turning the big TWO-ONE! (Happy Birthday Emily!!) ... and the other Irish folks took a trip to Rome. I would have gone but I'll be going with my parents next month so thought I'd sit tight until then. :)

Anyway, I was staring down the barrel of a lonely weekend when my friend who also decided they would stay here for the weekend suggested that we check out the chocolate show that was setting up in Bologna and selling chocolate from all over Italy.

Now this may truly be the coolest type of show/festival I have ever been to.. I mean come on...a CHOCOLATE SHOW!! An entire event dedicated to chocolate..genius.

There was about 50+ tents all showcasing their work and the chocolate they had to offer. I must say i was really impressed. It wasn't just lumps of chocolate being sold..they were actual art forms. Chocolate made into different shapes such as shoes, hats, purses, even I-phones and so much more. This festival travels through the cities in Italy to showcase and sell their masterpieces which I think is really cool and much appreciated among chocoholics like myself.

I took a few snaps of all this brilliantness to show here and maybe if you're ever in Italy you'll catch the festival. I really do hope they expand this festival across Europe though (i.e send it straight to Ireland/UK areas please!)

Keep in mind that everything you see in the pictures are all made out of chocolate!! I think it's pretty cool B-)

All different shapes made out of chocolate here folks.. cars, wrenches .. It was so cool.. they all had this rust looking effect but It was actually pure chocolate!

 Pick 'n' Mix pleaseeeee!

If only these had arrived before Halloween..Skull head sweets for the trick or treaters would have been brill!

Loved this stand! cute houses and planes :)

I need a chocolate shoe in my wardrobe....

Hot chocolate here is basically melted chocolate and nothing else.. and it is SO GOOD!

The square , 'Piazza Maggiore' with all the chocolate stalls!

I'll have to forgive them for their spelling.. These chocolate cupcakes with *Irish cream and coffee looked delicious!

Spotted the United Colours of Benetton store all lit up on my way home.. how pretty!

Talk About Culture SHOCK!

Hi again!

Okay, so when I decided I would start a blog over here, an idea I had in mind for one of my very first posts was to write about the new city I'm living in and how I'm finding it, so here it is..

As I said in my first post, I moved to Italy two months ago to study in the city of Bologna for my Erasmus. I can't really say that the studying is going very well but I can assure you that the drinking definitely is!

Being honest with you, I had never heard of Bologna before I was deciding that I wanted to live here, never even realised that 'Spaghetti Bolognese' actually comes from here!!..In fact it was my friend that pointed it out to me :/ (well done Sar)

It is totally different to what I'm used to and I can't lie.. that can be TERRIFYING.. But as each day moseys on I'm becoming more and more settled.

One thing I don't think I will get used to though is the vested interest that men over here take in foreign girls, i.e pasty Irish girls with blonde hair like myself.

They feel the need to stare, smile and whisper 'Bella' in your ear as you walk by...SO creepy :/

The funny thing is, is that you might look so run down with a cold, hair stuck to your head with grease and they will probably still say it to you which makes it even more creepy!

They have no fear of rejection or being shot down, they have no boundaries, definitely a massive change from how lads act where I'm from anyway!

This is of course just one aspect of living here in Italy and there are positive parts too...like having the best ice cream around available to you whenever you want it.. mmmmmmm. But I just wanted to focus on this part for this post as it is something that I and every other foreign girl over here deal with on a daily basis.. Not to scare you off or anything..just making you aware for when you may visit Italia! ;)

Much more to come on life here in Bologna..and I'll be sure to put that in in the posts to come :)

But for now I'm leaving you with a picture of my wall in my room that I'm adding things to.. pictures from home..memories..Hopefully by the end of this year it will be covered with new memories because at the moment its not very big..but that's only because its the very beginning! woooooo! (sappy)

Bye Bye :)

Perfume Craze!!

Looking around my room, I've realised that my perfume collection has grown quite impressively over the last while, I do always like to smell nice but I never would have spent the money on perfumes. Luckily for me, most of these perfumes were given to me as presents but that will absolutely not stop me from purchasing them in the future (If I can spare a few pennies that is! )

I know that many people might see perfume as a waste of money and I don't blame you at all because as I said I was one of those people but honestly, who doesn't like to smell really good when you're heading out for the night.

If you want a nice scent and more importantly, If you want it to last... you may have to spend a bit.

Okay so first up out of my little collection we have....

DKNY's 'Be Delicious'

Given to me by some friends for my 21st I must say i really love it!

It has a fresh 'ready to begin the day' scent which can almost smell like watermelon! mmmm. I think it's the perfect perfume to wear during the day time when you're heading out for lunch with friends or out to do a bit of shopping.

This can be bought in most pharmacies with a perfume section and the likes of Debenhams and Brown Thomas. The price for the 50ml bottle is €47.05. Pricey for a daytime perfume but if you keep an eye out you will often find this reduced! So keep those eyes peeled! :)

Next up...

Lacoste 'Love of Pink'

What I find funny about this Lacoste perfume is that it does resemble the DKNY product I just showed you, except that it is much sweeter, I like this perfume also a lot as It has that girly quality (probably the pink realistically) It's very sweet and is a go to fragrance for day or night. RRP - €45
This came with two 50 ml bottles. One being the Lacoste Body Lotion (which you can see on the right) and the other Lacoste shower gel (which you can't see there as I was very greedy and used it all up...and it was gooood)

Perfume numero tre...

'212 VIP' by Carolina Herrera

This one... oh my.. being one of my favourites it is absolutely gorgeous and even though it is quite expensive at €71.00 for 80ml it is just so delicious. This perfume definitely has the ability to make you feel confident and gorgeous as you walk out the door for a night out. The smell is catching and attractive and I would really challenge anyone to disagree :) yuummmm! As you can see on the left this also comes with a Body lotion which is gorgeous for when you get out of the shower.

Last (for this post) but definitely not least is..

'Alien' by Thierry Mugler

This perfume has to be my favourite and one that I appreciate the most considering the story that's attached to it.
Okay so, Last year, My phone was stolen from me and I was devastated (naturally) and the devastation only continued when my dad told me that insurance would not be covering it as we had made a mistake with the form so I could kiss goodbye to me beautiful phone that I had worked very hard for.
Because my poor dad felt so bad about the phone he came back with this perfume for me that he got in duty free and I have to say.. I ADORE.

I have been nursing this perfume since the moment I got it, It is very different to others I've had previously and I guarantee it would be a success with you also! It's a powerful yet soft and inviting scent and one that goes a long way with just one spray! I absolutely love it and again although it can be expensive I think (particularly for this perfume) it is absolutely worth it. If you use it wisely, you will definitely get your monies worth.

That's it for my perfume blog post, I just want to also point out that these perfumes were bought over time or given to me as presents and I look after them and use them sparingly because they can be quite expensive and I definitely would not be able to afford these just on a whim! haha, Christmas is approaching quickly though so one of these could be the perfect stocking filler perhaps? :)

Hope you enjoyed reading!

Talk soon :)

First step..AGH.

Here it goes, Hi everyone,

My name is Sara Ann and I have finally decided to start a blog, a decision that was definitely not made in the spur of the moment. I am a 21 year old Irish girl and I think for the last 2-3 years I have more often than not thought about doing this but never had the confidence to go ahead with it.

However, right now It just seems like the perfect opportunity and If I don't do it now.. I probably never will.

I am a commerce international student and this year is a massive year for me because two months ago, I moved to Bologna, Italy to study here for a year for my Erasmus. :)

Having a lot more spare time on my hands I would love to blog about not only my time here but things in general that I find interesting, thoughts I may have, possibly some DIY projects and great buys that I come across, be they clothes, beauty products or just cool, quirky gadgets!

I am a true blog fan myself, and would be lost without the little life tips and stories that I read about in other blogs. So now, I want to join in the fun and share with you my stories and my tips. :)

Really hope you enjoyed this little 'get to know me' post. I have a lot more to tell you about myself and will be posting again very very soon!

Have a lovely day!
